Announcing the release of Penny Trumpet, Dec, 2007. The majority of this impressive collection of tunes has been in Garry’s family for generations, unrecorded until now.

Though the album was recorded with deliberate underscoring accompaniments, they add an undeniably modern feel to these old tunes which conversely enables the true spirit of the music to be set free. Each tune has it own individuality and voice and quality. Free from technical wizardry, rather the wizardry comes from soulful playing which speaks for itself. The two songs mark out his singing debut and “Purple Lady” was written and composed by Garry.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"The album is pure musicianship and exudes it's own magic thanks to Garry's
master playing of the flute and whistle"
Alex Gallacher, Folk Radio UK
“Penny Trumpets is simply a cracker!!”
Irish Music Magazine.
“I Love it.”
Mike Harding, BBC, Folk on Two
The slow air, Oileán na nAnam, is a standout, Walsh's woody tones countered by an unmistakeably
Spanish undertow on guitar.
Irish Times
